Calls for Collaboration to Enhance Competition Standards in Iran

Roshanak emphasized the need for regulatory reforms and collaborative efforts with clubs and provincial associations.

Amirhossein Roshanak, the newly appointed director of the Persian Gulf Pro League, outlined plans to improve the upcoming football season through a mix of scheduling adjustments, regulatory revisions, and enhanced media protocols.

In an interview with the League Organization’s media team, Roshanak began by condemning recent human rights violations committed by the Israeli regime and thanked Iran’s military, security, and civil institutions for safeguarding national security.

Addressing the scheduling challenges facing the league, Roshanak explained that due to recent disruptions and the need to accommodate club preparation periods especially ahead of the FIFA World Cup the Super Cup and the start of the 25th Pro League season would be delayed by approximately two weeks. “This adjustment inevitably means a more compressed match calendar, with intervals between games reduced to as little as 72 hours in certain weeks,” he noted. Roshanak urged all clubs to show flexibility and cooperation in navigating this demanding season.

Reflecting on recent evaluations and post-season reviews, Roshanak stated that structural reforms were necessary:

“Based on the analytical feedback from previous seasons, particularly last year, we concluded that certain league regulations and procedural guidelines must be revised and updated to align more closely with international standards. This is essential for enhancing the overall quality of our competitions.”

Among the reforms under consideration are updates to competition regulations and the introduction of a standardized media protocol. The federation plans to organize training workshops for club media officers and matchday staff to ensure better management of press conferences and mixed zones, and to minimize disruptive side issues.

Roshanak emphasized that long-term improvement hinges on cooperation:

“Achieving our objectives requires a collective effort across the football community from provincial associations and clubs to the media and fans. With unity and shared commitment, we can raise the level of the game and ensure a more professional league season.”
